Do Chocolate Covered Strawberries Need to Be Refrigerated?

Yes — absolutely, and especially in Dubai.

Chocolate covered strawberries are a fresh, perishable product. The strawberry inside continues to release moisture after being dipped, and in a warm environment that process accelerates significantly. In Dubai's climate, leaving a box at room temperature for more than 30 minutes can visibly affect the chocolate coating.

When your La Fraise box arrives, the best approach is to refrigerate it immediately if you are not eating straight away. Keep it in its original packaging or in an airtight container to prevent the strawberries from absorbing other odours and to minimise air exposure.

Before eating, you can take the box out of the fridge 10–15 minutes beforehand. This allows the chocolate to come back to a slightly warmer temperature, which improves the flavour and makes the eating experience better than eating them straight from the cold.

Do not leave them in the fridge for more than 48 hours. The quality will decline noticeably after the first 24 hours as the strawberry softens from the inside.

Never freeze them. The ice crystals that form inside the strawberry during freezing destroy the texture, and the chocolate will crack and separate when it thaws.

The short and simple rule: refrigerate on arrival, eat within 24 hours, and enjoy them at their best.
