How Do You Keep Chocolate Covered Strawberries Fresh?

The key to keeping chocolate covered strawberries fresh is refrigeration, minimal handling, and eating them sooner rather than later.

Refrigerate immediately. As soon as your La Fraise box arrives, place it in the fridge if you are not eating straight away. The cold slows down the strawberry's moisture release, which is what softens the coating over time.

Keep them in their original packaging or an airtight container. Exposure to air dries out the strawberry and can cause the chocolate to absorb odours from other items in the fridge.

Avoid stacking them. The chocolate coating can mark or scratch easily if the strawberries are pressing against each other. The La Fraise boxes are designed to keep them separated, so keep them in the box until serving.

Do not wash them before storing. Our strawberries are ready to eat. Adding moisture after the fact accelerates deterioration.

Eat within 24 hours. This is the most important rule. After 24 hours the quality begins to decline — the strawberry softens, the chocolate loses its snap, and the freshness that makes them special starts to fade.

In Dubai's warm climate, it is particularly important not to leave them at room temperature for extended periods. Even 30 minutes in a warm room will begin to affect the texture of the chocolate coating.
